Col. Robert S. Riley
(Ret.)
& His Books
A word from the publisher
About
the Author
In 2010, Col. Riley approached us about becoming his new publisher. His previous publisher, McDowell Publications, had decided to liquidate their holdings and not re-publish. It was with great anticipation that we began work with the author to convert his hard copy manuscripts to digital format to get the best quality possible out of reproduction in a modified Print on Demand process. As with many processes, it wasn't long before the temptation to make minor changes, became overpowering. With the help of the author, the new Gregath editions contain many changes from corrected spelling errors to a few expanded charts.

Colonel Riley has researched and written the histories, origins, and genealogies of several pioneer families who settled in North-Central Kentucky in the late 1700s and early 1800s. He has always had a great interest in history, and as a student in high school, at the United States Military Academy, and in his graduate studies at Columbia University, he took courses in American, European, and Far Eastern history. He is the son of the late Niram Brooks Riley, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, and the late Nan Estelle Shean Riley of West Point, Kentucky. Although he has lived nearly all of his adult life out of the State of Kentucky, he is proud of his Kentucky heritage and still considers himself as being a Kentuckian.
