Growing up
around genealogists, writing, and publishing Fredrea Gregath Cook, was always there to help. A well-known researcher, she is
a published author of many family history and
genealogical reference books. Ongoing genealogical education
includes the National Institute of Genealogical Research (NIGR) 2004
and 2007 Federation of Genealogical Societies Library Day.

Fredrea
Gregath Cook attended Northeastern State Teachers College (currently
Northeastern State University), Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Northeastern
Oklahoma A&M College, Miami, Oklahoma.
She is a published author of genealogical and historical
material, including college level textbooks.
Fredrea has developed and taught genealogical research and
writing courses of study at colleges and universities.
Her
love of history has provided unique perspective in the family
publishing business. Fredrea
serves as the president of the Gregath Publishing Company now based in
Wyandotte, Oklahoma.
Mrs.
Cook is the third generation to have been involved in both
genealogical and historical research, writing, teaching,
lecturing,
and touring, as well as the printing and publishing industry.
She is active in numerous patriotic and lineal organizations,
as well as local community groups.
In 2008, she was elected to a two year term on the Genealogical
Speakers Guild Board of Directors.
One
of her many current projects is with her daughter
and husband, carrying on the
tradition of preserving local (family) history with the Ottawa
County, Oklahoma Families series.
