 Foil Considerations
For standard and
deluxe covers, please realize when deciding on
your imprint color, or shade of color, the color of cover you choose should be
considered. A black imprint may be considered bold on tan or orange, but will
fade into the fabric if placed on navy or dark brown. Likewise, gold and silver
can be a very subtle choice if choosing a light color fabric - highly visible at
only certain angles as the light catches the imprint.
Standard foil color choices are:
-
gold
-
silver
-
bronze
-
black
-
red
the cost of these are included in the binding
price - as stipulated. More foil, multiple colors, flat pigments,
special effects (like holographic or pearlized) etc. are all
available at more expense.

These
photographs were taken of the same cover embossing placed on
blue and brown
print material. Each photo, though taken with different lighting conditions
and angles, is of the same two cover swatches.

Standard embossing included in
standard and
deluxe covers, at no extra charge for a limited selection of colors. No-charge foils, recommended for darker materials include shiny gold, silver, and
bronze. No-charge foils, recommended for lighter cover fabrics include black and
red. Specialty foils, mattes, other colors and pigments can be special quoted.

Bronze foil on white and red foil on brown on material shown.
