Genealogical and historical authors from the tri-state area met in Miami on Saturday, for a writing and publishing conference.    Various topics from the nuts and bolts of organization, computers, formatting and manuscript preparation, to a copyright forum, were presented by Carrie Ann Cook, Fairland, Oklahoma.   Fredrea Gregath Cook, Wyandotte, Oklahoma, completed the day with information about book formatting, printing, covers, marketing and other economical approaches to publishing one’s book.  Both women are well known researchers, speakers, and published authors, who are members of the Association of Professional Genealogists, National Genealogical Society, Genealogical Speakers Guild, as well as local genealogical and historical groups.  They also belong to numerous local, state and regional patriotic, lineal, and service organizations.

          Those attending the conference included Belinda Brumfield, Pittsburg, Kansas; Doris Snyder and Frankie Meyer, Joplin, Missouri; Betty Marty, Neosho, Missouri; Patricia Maher, Carol Savage and Sandy Sullins, Grove, Oklahoma, Sue Tolbert and Glenn Smith, Muskogee, Oklahoma; Joy Weaver, Owasso, Oklahoma.
