Research by Land and Deed Presented
by a Professional Genealogist in Northeast Oklahoma

Mary Clement Douglass, Certified Genealogist and SpeakerEvery family researcher will find land a common theme throughout their research. Mary Clement Douglass, Certified Genealogist, will be the keynote speaker for Land in America, October 25, 2008. The seminar will be held at Stonebrook Inn in Grove, Oklahoma from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This $40.00 seminar focuses on land and how it can enrich genealogical and historical research. The Gregath Publishing Company is proud to present their annual genealogical event this year including two national speakers to enhance area researcher’s techniques.

“Introduction To Land Records” from Douglass and “Land In The Old Northwest Territory” by Fredrea Gregath Cook are on tap for the morning sessions. Attendees can take advantage of networking opportunities during their included lunch, on-site. The afternoon begins with “Read that Deed For All Its Worth”, which includes information on clues found in deed, mortgage, lease, and other individual land transfers, which is one of Mrs. Douglass’ specialties. The afternoon slate will conclude with “Gateways And Trails To The West”, by Carrie Cook.
