Almost 5 miles
off of Highway 10 in northeast Oklahoma lies this wonderful
campus. When leaving the Highway, drivers will enjoy over 4
miles of
blacktop before leaving "civilization" behind and making the
rest of the way on un-paved county roads.
The blacktop
now extends all the way to the "T".
From
Tulsa Airport
From
Miami From
Joplin Airport

From
Tulsa Airport:
From the
gates/parking: at the first stoplight, turn right (south) under the
overpass and take the left (east) onramp. This is the Gilcrease
Expressway (Highway 11), that feeds into I-244. Follow the
"to Joplin" signs. I-244 merges with I-44 where you will
continue on I-44 by getting on the Will Rogers Turnpike (I-44). Proceed up the
turnpike and take the Miami exit. Once through the toll booth, the
road feeds into a stoplight. Turn to the right (east) and you will
be on Highway 10. See below from Miami for
further details.
From
Miami: |
|
Proceed out of
Miami east on Highway 10 approximately 6 miles (through the junction of Highway
137, but before Highway 10C junction) until you see the Cave
Springs Christian Retreat sign on the left (north) side of the highway
(County Road 650). Take
this paved road,
approximately 4.5 miles until the road runs into a
"T" complete with another Cave Springs Christian Retreat
sign. Before you get to the "T", County Road 650 will take you over the creek and in view of the "swimmin
hole" and some campus facilities, continue on the blacktop to the "T"
- you're not to the entrance yet. |
All retreat signs are designed the same.
View of turn off arriving from Miami (the west). |
|
The "T" - don't turn until you arrive
here! |
| At the "T", turn to the
right (east, off the pavement) and proceed until you see the actual Cave Springs
Christian Retreat turnoff (marked by another sign) on the right (south)
side of the road. |
|
|
Once this
turn is made, follow the road through the campus gates (picking up
blacktop again)
and stop in front of the
main building (first one on the road) for check-in and further parking
instructions.
Please note that the main roadway throughout this
campus is one way
in a counter-clockwise motion.

From
Joplin Airport (see above for maps):
Turn right (west)
out of the airport and proceed to first stoplight where
you will turn left (south) onto Highway 43 (Joplin
Main Street). Proceed through town and take I-44/Highway 43 (to
Tulsa).
At this point you can either
continue on to Miami, I-44 turns into the Will
Rogers Turnpike, or follow the directions below:
Take the exit 4 (Highway 43 to
Seneca).
At the light at the top of the off ramp, turn left (south) and proceed down
Highway 43. Turn right (west) at junction U - Highways 43
& 10C - proceeding west down Highway 10C. Continue (past the 10C Junction,
but before the Spring River bridge) until you see the Cave
Springs Christian Retreat sign on the left (north) side of the highway
(County Road 650). Take
this paved road,
approximately 4.5 miles (pavement runs out
approximately 4 miles) until the road runs into a
"T" complete with another Cave Springs Christian Retreat
sign. Before you get to the "T", County Road 650 will take you over the creek and in view of the "swimmin

Christian Retreat turnoff (marked by another sign) on the right (south)
side of the road. Once this turn is made, follow the road through
