Autobiography
Frankie has been
writing the genealogy column for the Joplin Globe since 1999. During
that time she's written over 200 columns about various aspects of family
history research.
Having been doing
family history research for about 20 years, and she has published two
books: "Maria Carlin and Her Historic Gifford and Waldo Ancestors
of Harrison County, Virginia (now WV)" and "Family History of John
Carlin Sr. and His Wife Catherine Read of Barbour (Formerly Harrison)
County, West Virginia."
In her spare time, she
is finishing
a book on her Quick ancestry, a book on her Haddock ancestry, a book on
her Parmley ancestry, and a book on her Chancel ancestry. Another book
is about my experiences growing up on Carlin Ridge in eastern McDonald
County, Missouri, "in the Ozarks".
Frankie has a
bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in Biology and
Education. She taught high school biology for 30 years.
She lives with her
husband, Jim, in Joplin, Missouri.
