Information About the Retreat
For the fourth Gregath retreat,
we decided to go from woods to waves!
2003,
2005, and
2007 were great times, but feedback was that it was a little bit too
rustic. For 2009, a great time is planned on the shores of Grand Lake of
the Cherokees in wonderful Grove, Oklahoma. Stonebrook Inn was chosen
for it's location, size, and great people. The friendly staff and daily
maid service will make the stay much more "user friendly" than past
retreats where genealogists not only had to make their own bunks, but
bring all their linens as well.
The Inn is a two story, outer
entrance, facility where you can enjoy the walk on the terrace, and the
trip poolside (already secured for the winter in October) to arrive at the spacious lobby where complementary drinks
are on hand at all times. Stonebrook also puts on a wonderful
breakfast
where attendees can continue to network with other genealogists and
writers, or
"cast their nets" and make new friends with other hotel guests.
Our retreat will be taking over a
hotel suite for registration, lectures, workshops, door prizes,
entertainment, snacks, lunch, dinner and optional breakfast seating.
Part of a retreat is not feeling "like a number". To this end, there
will be no more than
48 attendees at this retreat. The total of 48 will include any learners
who have chosen to attend various lectures "a la carte", as well as full
package attendees.
This retreat should appeal to
genealogist/family historians and writers of all types. No early enrollment for a given lecture is needed
- unless a la carte is planned. Pick and
choose what sessions are right for you - or stay in your room: organizing
your research or getting some writing time in.

Package standard package fee of $205,
is available until October 1, 2009, or until space lasts. A $60 single
supplement is available, and triple and quad occupancy discounts (bring
your own roommates) are also possible.
A la carte tuition is available
for any session at the cost of $20.00 each. Admission includes tuition
for that session and one name tag (no matter how many sessions you buy). Check in at the door to the meeting room to register and get your
name tag. If you have lots of interests, it may quickly become
economical to get the whole package and not use it all.
