Biography
Delores
Meyer holds a BSE in Business from Wisconsin State University – Stevens
Point, a MS in Continuing, Adult, and Vocation Education from the
University of Wisconsin – Madison, and an Ed.D. in Occupational and
Adult Education Administration from Oklahoma State University. She has
been an office employee, a self-employed business person, an educator,
an academic administrator, a parliamentarian, and a consultant in the
curriculum development, marketing and recruitment for educational
programs, business office operations, and parliamentary procedures .
During her
career in education, she taught a variety of business, adult education,
and research courses in two-year, four-year, and masters degree
programs. She also served as a department chairman and an academic vice
president and provided business/industry training. As a student youth
group advisor, she coached parliamentary procedures teams for national
competition.
Delores
has also served as a contributing author, editorial reviewer and editor,
member of research groups and curriculum competency development
committees, and member of School-to-Work, Tech Prep, and
Vocational/Technical Program and University Program advisory
committees. She has made numerous presentations to students,
businesses, and professional organizations at the local, state, and
regional level and served on conference planning committees at the state
and regional level.
Meyer has
held leadership positions in state, regional and national vocational
associations; local, state and national parliamentary organizations; the
local United Fund, community development groups, social services
committees, PTA; and her church.
Delores
now serves as an adjunct instructor in business and is the
parliamentarian for the Oklahoma Division of the UDC, the chairman of
the Bylaws Committee Fort Reno Chapter NSDAR, and vice president and
chairman of the Bylaws Committee Chisholm Trail Unit of
Parliamentarians, and judges district, region, and state parliamentary
law competitions.
She and
her husband, Orby, have been married more than 50 years and have two
children and four grandchildren.

Debunk These Myths of Parliamentary Procedures
Debunk the myths of parliamentary procedures by learning the basics of
parliamentary law. This lecture provides a review of the common myths of
parliamentary procedures and increases confidence in the application of
parliamentary law as we deflate these common myths. Tips for effective
participation in business meetings and for leading effective business
meetings will be included.
