Steve
is a professional genealogical researcher and lecturer living in
Springfield, Missouri. He is Adjunct Faculty at Missouri State
University. He has been doing genealogical research for more than 38
years, researching his own family as well as researching for clients
professionally. Steve specializes in Civil War research, documents and
manuscripts as well as 18th and 19th century
records. Steve is an active member of the Ozarks Genealogical Society,
the Civil War Round Table of the Ozarks, the National Genealogical
Society, the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Genealogical
Speakers Guild, as well as other national and regional societies and
organizations. Steve currently serves as Past President and member of
the Board of Directors of OGS. He also serves as Program Secretary and
a member of the Board of Directors of the Round Table. He volunteers at
the Hulston Research Library at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield.
Steve is a frequent lecturer for national
and regional conferences. He will be lecturing at the National
Genealogical Society 2012 Family History Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio on
the topic, “In Search of your Civil War Ancestry”. He has participated in
numerous national, regional and local conferences and other learning
opportunities. Steve has taken advanced coursework in US Military Records
from the National Institute for Genealogical Studies, University of
Toronto. He attended the National Institute on Genealogical Research in
Washington DC in 2010 at the National Archives. He attended the Salt Lake
Genealogical Institute in Salt Lake City in January of this year where he
took coursework in Advanced Genealogical Methods.
