Drop Cap: A Capital letter, traditionally the first letter of a chapter/section, that is enlarged to "drop" below the text in the rest of the line. Example "U" to the right.

Draft: All manuscripts go through many versions.  Each of those versions are a different draft.

With today's print on demand technology, have you considered producing different books for different family members? This can be as simple as a story book for children, or as complicated as a fully personalized volume.

With the decline of the printed word, there is less demand - world wide - for paper. Because of this, less paper is being made. In fact, long-time manufacturers are getting out of the business. Paper prices are expected to rise sharply in 2018. This should be factored into any publication plan.

Never assume anyone or anything (web “robot”, interest group, non-profit, etc.) will do anything for you – always ask. This includes asking people share your information, please post, and seeking out search engine (and other) submission opportunities for your web presence, etc.

When looking for a new or different printer, you may wish to weigh the difference between laser and inkjet. Genealogists and authors sometimes find inkjet limiting: May be water soluble, may come out of printer wet, etc.)
