Gregath/Author to Sign Books at NGS

Gregath Co. will make closest to home National Genealogical Society exhibitor appearance at the annual meeting in Kansas City, May, 2008.  Staff will be on hand at booth #113/115 throughout most of the conference to discuss publishing as well as having select publications for sale.

As a special service, The Gregath Publishing Company will also host several authors for autographs.  Authors will be traveling from far and wide, as well as close to home, to attend NGS and be available to sign their books.  So far, two authors from the Gregath staff are slated to be available for public signings.  The exact dates and times can be found online (click here).

President, Fredrea Gregath Cook is a published author of genealogical and historical material, including college level textbooks.  She attended Northeastern State Teachers College, Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Miami, Oklahoma.  She has developed and taught genealogical research and writing courses of study at colleges and universities and is one of the Gregath Publishing Company's speakers. Fredrea is the third generation involved in both genealogical and historical research, writing, teaching, lecturing, and touring, as well as the printing and publishing industry. 

Mrs. Cook is the author of Expanding Horizons Early Colonization & Westward Movement, Alexander Family Collection Volume 1, The Cochrane and Ripley Families, The Crowder Family Collection, Downings of Europe & America Volumes 1 and 2, Early New England Families & Some of Their Descendants..., Our Green Family Cherokee Ancestors & Some of Their Descendants, A Lockhart Family in America, Ottawa County, Oklahoma Families Volume 1-3, Ottawa County School Census Records, 1912-1915, Volume 1, Forgotten OK Records "Cherokee Land Allotment Book", and Writing Family History or Genealogy for Pleasure and Profit. Specific times devoted to signings for each book will be scheduled during the week. 

Vice President and Webmaster, Carrie Ann Cook, is the fourth generation directly involved in Gregath Co.. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education as well as several states’ teaching credentials.  Miss Cook is a published author - illustrator and photographer, concentrating on genealogical and historical topics. Her book titles include Writing Family History or Genealogy for Pleasure and Profit, Alexander Family Collection Volume 1, A Lockhart Family in America, Ottawa County, Oklahoma Families Volume 1-3, Expanded Index to Various Wyandotte Tribal Rolls Between the Years 1872 & 1884, Slowing the March of Time Preserving & Protecting Items of Historical Significance, Tips and Tidbits for Pages, Touring Washington DC (Not available at NGS unless preordered), Wyandotte Bears (OK) Football 1987 – a pictorial history, and her newest title Money for Nothing, Making Money with Volunteers.  She conducts genealogical tours, serves as the webmaster, and speaks on staff.  Additionally, Carrie has taught Genealogy, Writing and Computer/Internet use at Northeast Technology Center, Afton, Oklahoma.  She also owns Carrie's Corner, which offers web design, gift baskets and used books of all types, including small genealogy and writing aids sections.
