Cyndi Howells Seminar 2004
Local company brings the World Wide Web to community in October

Unlock the secrets of genealogical researching on the Internet at a seminar in Grove, Oklahoma, October 16, 2004.  Cyndi Howells, the genealogy Internet authority will make her second address in Oklahoma at this event.  Cyndi will speak throughout the day on various aspects of the Internet and how to maximize research resources.

The Gregath Publishing Company, a local publisher with global scope, is proud to be able to bring such a noted speaker into the area for her first area lecture.  “There is a need in the community to re-commit to gathering and preserving history in all forms.  Bringing in an authority of this new wave of genealogy (Internet) is a good way to encourage the community toward this worthy end.” stated Carrie Ann Cook, Vice President and Webmaster of the sponsoring company.

Ticket holders, as well as “at gate” attendees will register as they arrive at the Grove, Oklahoma Civic Center (old Wal-Mart building).  Upon registration, goodie bags, including source materials, will be distributed.  Door prizes will be given throughout the day.  Vendors and genealogical organizations will be available for book and research material browsing as well as networking.  Cyndi’s first session, Email: How to Communicate Easily and Effectively with the World, will begin after opening comments at 9 AM.  Her other topics include The World Wide Web - Quit Surfing and Start Researching with mention of myths and misconceptions and Googling for Grandma.  Bonus presentations, in addition to Cyndi, are also planned for break time. A long break mid-day will include a catered lunch.  The speaker will end the day taking questions, wrapping up the seminar around 4 PM.  Pre-registration is open through October 1st.  Interested parties may call 918-542-4148 or visit the company website at http://www.gregathcompany.com/workshop/2004 for more information.
