How many people don't care to write down their recipes family stories, and historical tidbits "because everyone knows that"? Cookbooks with an eye toward history can preserve family recipes and traditions as well as providing insight into the history of people, places or things that have touched your family. Don't just take our word for it, think back to things of the past and if all the facts and fun food you've heard about are easily found today - or not. Whether you decide to publish a book for public consumption or not, there should be no question on collecting this information to pass on within the family. Craft the book to reflect the cooks or chief. We'd never suggest considering "cookie cutter" publishers just because it may be easier - cook books should have personality.
